Let’s face it the title of this blog is really misleading. There really are no 100% healthy candy options out there, and due to urban legends giving out fruit isn’t an option. Even Crest’s idea of handing out toothpaste to the kids visiting your house is great in theory, but after the third child looking at you like you’re a little crazy for putting a tube of toothpaste in their bag word will get out rather quickly that you aren’t giving out candy and the next thing you know you’re stuck with 50 travel sized boxes of toothpaste.

We all know Halloween is supposed to be fun, and part of that fun is dressing up and going door-to-door and getting candy! So while there’s no real healthy candy out there if you take the time to do some research you can find some options that will treat those kid’s sweet tooth, and are the least guilt-ridden candy out there.

The ones I have added below are not only some of my favorites, but they all come in under 100 calories, 6 grams of fat, and 10 grams of sugar per serving!

Hershey’s Special Dark: This is an all time classic, and is really easy to love thanks to the antioxidant benefits of dark chocolate. If you snack on two Hershey’s miniatures it clocks in at only 88 calories and 5.2 grams of fat.

Tootsie Rolls: I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t enjoy a Tootsie Roll from time to time. These little candies are a favorite to people all over the world, and three minis contain only 70 calories and 1.5 grams of fat!

Jolly Rancher: These delicious fruity hard candies not only keep your mouth busy for minutes, increasing the satisfaction factor. But two, no matter what flavor you choose, are only 47 calories and 8 grams of sugar.

Mike & Ike: Another fruity favorite, these chewy candies come in one snack sized box and make the perfect snack. That box has only 50 calories and 0 grams of fat, plus they contains some real fruit juice!

Tootsie Roll Pop: Only Mr. Owl knows how many licks it takes to get to the center, but I know it takes only 60 calories and 0 grams of fat (Tootsie Roll center included)! Be careful with the sugar content though- there is 10 grams of sugar in a single pop making this candy a one-and-done option.

Mounds: Ahhh the candy that always reminds me of going on vacation to a tropical destination with my hubby, thanks to its coconut filling. The best part is you don’t have to worry about how you look in a bikini, one snack-sized bar has 80 calories, 4.5 grams of fat, and 8 grams of sugar.

Kit Kat: “Have a break… Have a…” Seriously you deserve that break, especially considering that Kit Kat bars are relatively low in calories and fat thanks to the light, crispy wafer center. One 2-piece bar has 70 calories, 3.6 grams of fat and 9.2 grams of sugar.

Heath Bar: Amazing when you mix it in with ice cream, and even better on its own! One snack-sized bar has 77 calories and 4.7 grams of fat.

Air Head: One mini Air Head bar comes in under 50 calories and 7 grams sugar. Plus for Halloween it gets extra spooky with the “mystery” flavor.

3 Musketeers: These fluffy bars are delicious and light enough to snack on a few minis with almost no guilt. But be sure to stop at two because they clock in at less than 50 calories, and 8 grams of sugar making them the perfect indulgence.

These 10 “healthy” candy choices aren’t the only ones out there, but with many kids having allergies to nuts and dried fruit I chose to omit things like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Rasinettes because no one wants to hand out candy that a child can’t have.

I personally can’t wait for Halloween! It’s one of my favorite holidays and I’m so excited to take my boys out and help them scare the neighborhood! So be safe, have fun, and enjoy this spooky holiday!
